MCM UBA Cell holds awareness rally on Personal Hygiene

The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, organised a rally on Personal Hygiene at the adopted villages of Badheri and Buterla. The objective of the activity was to generate awareness among the village residents about the significance of maintaining proper hygiene on a regular basis. The resource persons of the UBA team who accompanied the students were Dr. Amandeep, Postgraduate Department of Economics and Dr. Rishu, Postgraduate Department of Chemistry. The student volunteers participated in the rally by raising slogans and carrying banners, spreading the message of maintenance of personal hygiene and keeping the surroundings clean and disease free. One of the student volunteers gave an emphatic speech highlighting the significance of unsullied environment on the overall physical and mental well being of an individual. The posters prepared by the student volunteers caught the attention of the village students and residents in general, and reminded them of the simple ways of maintaining cleanliness and keeping diseases at bay.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for the efforts of the UBA Cell directed towards rural development through such sensitisation programmes. She further emphasised the importance of personal hygiene for a healthy mind and body.
