Nation celebrated the 75th Republic Day with Parade showcasing its  Strength at Kartavya Path, Delhi on 26th January 2024. This year, the Ministry of Defence extended invitation to beneficiaries of various schemes/initiatives/contest/events of Government along with their spouse to witness the Republic Day Parade (RDP), 2024 at Kartavya Path, NewDelhi as Special guests of the Government.

Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has invited over 1100 farmers, who are beneficiaries of central government schemes such as Rashtriya Gokul Mission and Pradhan Mantri Matya Sampada Yojana to witness the parade, significant addition to the esteemed guest list. All the invitees along with Nodal officers from the respective States reached on 24th at New Delhi.

On 24th January 2024, all the special invitees got a heartfelt reception on arrival at New Delhi and special arrangements made to all the participants for a comfortable and memorable stay. On 25th January, the invitees visited the various designated historic places at New Delhi including  Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple, adding cherished memories of the first ever event.

On 26th after witnessing the Spectacular Parade, the special invitees felicitated by Shri Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister (FAHD) at Siri fort auditorium, New Delhi followed by a curated lunch. The beneficiaries shared their experience and expectations with the Union Minister and appreciated the efforts of  the Government for the upliftment of livestock farmers and fishermen of the country. During the function, Union Minister distributed the  Participation Certificates to all the Special Invitees.

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Parshottam Rupala remarked the substantial contributions of these farmers to the nation’s development. By providing a well-deserved platform and acknowledgment for their relentless efforts, Government aimed to spotlight the crucial role played by these beneficiaries in shaping the agricultural landscape of our great nation, he further added.

Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Secretary Department of Fisheries and Department of AHD(i/c) mentioned the achievements of both sector highlighting the significance of the strategic move with the establishment of the new Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying in 2019, during his welcome address. Ms Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and dairying and Shri Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary, Department of Fisheries participated the event along with other dignitaries of both sector.
