Olive oil vs Coconut oil- Which one is better

Both the oils namely, olive and coconut are plant extracted oil or extracted from the herbs naturally. Also, they both are used in the kitchen for various reasons such as cooking, baking and are also added in cosmetics.
Virgin oil is basically extracted from the olives and on the other hand, coconut oil is extracted from the flesh of coconut milk.
If we talk about its texture, olive oil is liquid at room temperature and coconut oil is a soft solid and has butter-like consistency, however in temperatures above 25°C, it also becomes a thin clear liquid.

Nutritional Value 

One teaspoon of coconut oil contains 120 calories, on the other hand, one teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil contains 120 calories the same as coconut oil. While comparing the number of saturated fats present in them, coconut oil contains 13 g of it and olive oil has only about 2 g of it which is very less and healthier than coconut oil.

Coconut oil mostly leaves us with saturated fats in the form of molecules called MCT’s (medium-chain triglycerides). Good amounts of saturated fats are not helpful for the body as they can be a reason for heart-related ailments. So, if you are consuming then, use it in fewer amounts.

Extra Virgin olive gives you an adequate amount of antioxidants. However, coconut oil also provides us with the same property but it gives you a low amount and that is not enough for a healthy body.

Which one is healthier? 

Researchers compared both the oils on the basis of healthy notes, and they found that olive oil contains more healthy deeds than coconut oil. To conclude this, there are various factors which prove it.

Recently, Olive oil is considered a part of the Mediterranean diet. It is believed to be the healthiest diet, which is followed around the world.

The Mediterranean diet is helpful in decreasing the development of health disorders such as the risk of heart-related ailments, kinds of cancer, Type-2 diabetes and it also helps to lose excess fat.  Another factor that makes olive oil healthier is that it contains a good amount of saturated fats, like; monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats.
