Chandigarh, March 10 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has arrested the Deputy Superintendent of Public Health Engineering Department while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 4000 from a contractor.
Sharing the information here today, a Vigilance Bureau spokesperson informed that posted in Fatehabad district, accused Shamsher Singh had demanded bribe from a contractor for clearing his payment related to waterworks repair.
Contractor Navneet Kumar submitted a complaint against the Deputy Superintendent in which he had stated that the accused official had already taken Rs 4000 from him for facilitating payment of bills and further demanded the bribe.
Acting on the complaint, the Vigilance team laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4000.
A case has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation is being done.
