Rich tributes paid to Swami Vivekananda on National Youth Day function in Kargil

Nehru Yuva Kendra Kargil, Ladakh, Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with Digital Computer Centre Kargil today organized National Youth Day on 161st birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at LAACL Hall, Kargil.
The event featured a virtual address of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on National Youth Day. The participants patiently listened to the Prime Minister’s address.
Councilor Taisuru Abdul Hadi was the chief guest, Councilor Saliskote Mohd Sajjad was guest of honour, District Youth Officer, Jagmat Spaldon, activist and teacher Sajjad Bob, Director Digital Computer Centre, Arif Hussain, students of Digital Computer Centre and youth participated in the event.
The Program started with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome speech from District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra Kargil, Jigmat Spaldon.
Councilor Taisuru, Abdul Hadi mentioned the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and said the day aims to celebrate his life and teachings. He appreciated NYK Kargil for organizing such events adding that the NYK is rendering their services for the youth.
Councilor Saliskote Mohd Sajjad said that Swami Vivekananda’s life was full of inspiration and asked the students and the youth to take his life as an inspiration.
At the event, students of Digital Computer Centre presented special lectures on life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The National Youth Day, also known as Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, is celebrated in India on January 12 to commemorate birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of India’s most influential spiritual leaders and thinkers.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Arif Hussain, Director of Digital Computer Centre and expressed gratitude to participants for making the event successful.
The chief guest and guest of honour jointly flagged off 25 My Bharat Volunteers, trained by the Traffic Department, who will play a crucial role in traffic management at road safety week from 11 Jan to 17 Jan 2024.
