Deputy Chief Minister reviews the construction works of PWD worth Rs. 6,400 crores

Will appoint special officers to coordinate for railway related works: Deputy Chief Minster

Chandigarh, April 13- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala has directed  officers to build sheds over all the underpasses in the state so that people passing through do not face any inconvenience during rains. In order to avoid delay in the projects seeking approval from the Railways, a special officer will be appointed to take up the work related to the railways of the State. He warned the construction companies and concerned officers that in case of any delay in future, they should be prepared to pay heavy penalties. He added that the timeline of any project should be strictly followed.

        The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, gave this direction while presiding over the review-meeting today. He reviewed the ongoing projects of building and roads being constructed by the PWD Department. He reviewed projects worth Rs. 2,900 crore for  construction of buildings and about Rs. 3,500 crore for  construction of roads. On this occasion, besides the Additional Chief Secretary of the department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, other senior officers and representatives of construction companies related to the projects were also present.

        Sh. Dushyant Chautala took feedback on the extension of the existing run-way and taxi-way being done in the second phase at Hisar International Airport. He directed the officers that this work should be completed within the stipulated time, along with maintaining its quality.

        He enquired from the officers regarding the progress of the memorial which is being built in the memory of India’s first freedom struggle at Ambala. He directed to expedite the work related to parking, dispensary construction and other construction related works. He reviewed the construction work of New Judicial Complex in Gurugram, 200 bedded hospital building in Yamunanagar, Haryana State Archaeological Museum under construction in Sector-5 of Panchkula, 100 bedded ‘Mother and Child’ hospital at Civil Hospital, Panipat, NCC in Gharaunda, Karnal. He also reviewed the construction of Academy, administrative block in the mini secretariat of Charkhi Dadri, Unani College under construction in village Akeda in Nuh district, upgraded hospitals at Narnaul and Mahendergarh, post review he directed the officers and construction companies to complete the work within the stipulated time period. He added that delay in any work will result in heavy penalties.

        The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the projects of ROB (Railway Overbridge), RUB (Railway Underbridge) and roads etc. of the PWD department worth more than Rs. 25 crore. He reviewed the work of ROB on Dabwali-Kalanwali-Rodi road near Kalanwali town in Sirsa district, Thanesar-Dhand Kaithal road in Kaithal district, Narwana-Samain road in Jind district and Tosham bypass of Bhiwani city and directed to expedite the work. He said that the ROB under construction on Jindal Chowk to Suryanagar road in Hisar city and the bypass being constructed in the south direction should be completed soon so that the people of Hisar and its surroundings could get convenience. He also took a progress report on the widening of Rewari-Shahjahanpur road in Rewari district, 4-lane road from village Kharak to Bhiwani in Bhiwani district and construction of Bhiwani bypass. Taking feedback on the work of beautification, widening, installation of dividers and lights of the road from Gitadwar to Jyotisar in Kurukshetra, he said that Kurukshetra is a religious city where devotees from all over the country and abroad come, so do this work should be completed on the priority basis.

        Sh. Dushyant Chautala while reviewing various projects of worth Rs. 6,400 crore of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department also directed the officers to take guidance from the Additional Chief Secretary of the department for disposal of inter-departmental matters so that the work can be completed within the stipulated time period and there is no scope of unnecessary delay.
