— People Committing Suicide to Starvation in Punjab, While Ministers Spatting With Officers Over Liquor Business

Chandigarh, May 12.

While the poor people in Punjab are helpless, daily wager is hungry for want of food and ration, people are protesting on road and even committing suicide out of sheer despair, on the other side the Punjab’s cabinet meeting has turned out into the Ministers locking horns with senior most government officials over trivial issues of liquor business. Adding icing to the cake the Ministers even took up this trivial matter with the Chief Minister, said Senior Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vineet Joshi in apress release here today.

Punjab government’s ministers, MLAs, MPs, officers are unable to see the pain poor and needy are living in. They even failed to raise issue of people dying due to hunger at Ludhiana, Moga, Malout, Bhoa and Raikot before the Chief Minister, accused Joshi.

ManpreetBadal, CharanjitChanni, SukhjinderRandhawa and others raising their voices against Chief Secretary should rather have become voice of the poor and needy. PPCC president Sunil Jakhar should have released press statement about the lack of food and facilities to people of Punjab, rather than issuing statements against the government officers. Similarly, Congress MLA Raja Singh Warring, instead of tweeting about the issue over liquor business, should have tweeted about the lack of food and basic facilities in Malwa region. Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu too spoke on the tiff between ministers and officers, but chose to remain mum on issue of lathi charge on poor, long queues of people standing for their turns to get food and about those committing suicide due to hunger in Ludhiana, said Joshi.
