Deputy Chief Minister observed the functioning of Dial 112 control room located in Civil Lines, Raipur
Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to chalk out action plan to make Dial 112 service more effective and expand it to the entire state

Preparation for expansion of Dial 112 facility in all the 33 districts of Chhattisgarh is in progress. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma had a discussion in the context with the senior police officers today during his visit to the control room of Dial 112 in Civil Lines. In the meeting, the officials provided detailed information about the proposed implementation plan for the project through power point presentation.
In the first phase, the dial 112 service was made available in 16 districts including the capital city Raipur. Under this facility, immediate help is being provided to the people in need in case of emergency or disaster. In the second phase, this facility will be expanded in the remaining 17 districts of the state. Thus, after the expansion of this facility in the second phase, people of all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh will get to avail the Dial 112 service.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma visited the control room of Dial 112 service in Civil Lines area of Raipur yesterday, and observed the ongoing work there. He gave necessary instructions to the officials to further improve this system. He said that providing immediate help to the victims of accidents should be a priority. MLA Guru Khushwant Saheb accompanied Deputy Chief Minister during this visit.
Additional Director General of Police Shri Pradeep Gupta said that people call for emergency police, fire and medical services through various social media platforms. When a person in need calls 112, the call is received at the ‘Call Taker section’ located in C-4, necessary information is obtained by the call-taker and the ‘event’ is recorded in the control room, initiating ‘call for service’ (CFS).
Mr. Pradeep Gupta said that as soon as the CFS is completed, this ‘event’ appears in the system of the dispatcher staff of the respective district in real time through the Computer Added Dispatch System, and then the event is assigned to one or more ERVs as required. As soon as the event is assigned, the police present in the concerned ERV immediately leaves for the scene.
Mr. Gupta informed that the entire process is monitored by the Police Supervision Officer present in C-4 and District Police Control Room Staff of the concerned district. At the end of the event, ERV staff submits a brief report about the action taken which is called the ‘action taken report’. To improve the quality of services, Police Officers take feedbacks from the callers from time to time and incorporate their suggestions.
On this occasion Additional Chief Secretary Home and Jail Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua, Director General of Police Mr. Ashok Juneja, Minister of Police Raipur Mr. Ratan Lal Dangi, Additional Director General of Police Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Senior Superintendent of Police Raipur Mr. Prashant Agarwal, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Planning and Management ) Mr. Manish Sharma and Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Abhishek Singh were present.
