In order to take stock of the progress achieved on the road construction works in Shinkunla and Nayarak area of Nimo Padum Darcha Road, Executive Councilor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchok Tashi held a meeting with the Officer Commanding (OC) 126 RCC GREF Lieutenant Colonel Dushyant Singh at Padum here today.
Incharge SDM Zanskar Tsering Nurboo was also present during the meeting.
EC Tashi hailed the efforts of 126 RCC GREF for their contribution for successful completion of the realignment of Shinkunla Pass which was funded by the LAHDC Kargil.
The EC Zanskar Affairs asked the OC 126 RCC GREF to deploy machines at Purne, Cha, Itcher stretch to advance the slope for smooth passing of vehicles.

OC 126 RCC GREF apprised the EC Zanskar Affairs that around 1.5 km rock cutting towards Nyarak has been completed and manpower has also been deployed to improve the road condition at Purney, Cha Stretch. He urged the EC for support from the administration and public at Itcher stretch to improve road alignment.
